What is Papers for the People?
Papers for the people is a series of zines based on academic papers written by people in various disciplines. We want to take the creative thoughts of resistance that people have thought up in the ivory tower and present them in a more digestible format. This project isn’t about changing or dumbing down ideas for “the masses.” It’s actually about articulating ideas more clearly than we do when we write for other academics because we have a wider audience in mind.
Submit a paper for this series
Writers are asked to edit academic papers to 5000 words or less, trying to avoid jargon and write clearly. Go it alone (together) will provide further edits and publish the paper as a zine.
Submission guidelines:
- Papers should have a local focus
- Papers should connect with concepts of radical resistance and social justice (no liberal feel good crap please)
- Papers can come from any discipline
- Papers should be based on independent research, preferably with some content based on primary research
